BOYCE AVENUE @ Venue – February 11, 2011

Boyce Avenue were welcomed back to Vancouver with a sold-out show at Venue last Friday night. The band seemed right at home and comfortable on stage, playing not only songs from their album All We Have Left, but also a handful of cover songs in the way that put them on the musical map – but don’t be mistaken, Boyce Avenue is much more than a band that puts their own spin on other people’s songs.

It is clear that the three Manzano brothers (Alejandro, Daniel, and Fabian) are talented musicians. The presence that they exude on stage is admirable, especially during the acoustic portion of the set, which many of their fans are familiar with through their Youtube videos. Vancouver was the first of many stops for the band’s North American tour, which is slated to finish in Chicago at the end of March.

We were fortunate enough to speak with the band before the show about touring, their music, and what their plans are for the rest of 2011. Check back for the full interview later this week, as well as an upcoming contest to win some signed Boyce Avenue goodies!
