There is a visual aspect to Empire of the Sun that stands out, particularly in their music videos.
The electro-glam-pop duo from Australia consists of Luke Steel and Nick Littlemoor, who began collaborating together for their respective groups before creating their own project. The visual aspect of Empire of the Sun is as bright, bold, and beautiful as their music with headpieces, bright lights, and a majestic wardrobe.
Jack Garratt is currently on the road with Mumford & Sons on their Gentlemen of the Road tour, but will be making a stopover to headline a show in Vancouver on August 15th at the Biltmore Cabaret.

Tor Miller is a voice to keep an ear out for.
The New York based singer-songwriter has been slowly but steadily gaining attention – Miller signed with Glassnote Records earlier this year, with a notable roster including Phoenix, Mumford & Sons, CHVRCHES, and Childish Gambino. Miller is on an undetermined hiatus from his studies at the Clive Davis School of Music at NYU.
Miller is currently on tour with a stop in Vancouver at The Media Club on Monday June 22nd with guest Windmills.
It’s easy to have festival envy when you check out the line-ups of festivals outside of your living area.
In the case of Bestival, which is happening on June 12th and 13th at Toronto Island, there is no need for envy – the lovely folks at Fido are bringing acts from the festival to five Canadian cities in the Road to Bestival concert series. Vancouver will see Owen Pallett play at the Biltmore Cabaret this Thursday May 28th.
Vision is everything. This is something that Tove Styrke is familiar with.
The pop songstress got her start on Swedish Idol, releasing her self-titled album shortly afterwards at the age of 18. The album reached platinum status and even received a Swedish Grammy nomination. Rather than riding on the success of her debut, Styrke decided to move back home with her parents in Umeå in Northern Sweden to figure out her musical identity.

There is no doubt that The Ting Tings know how to create infectious music.
Their debut album, We Started Nothing, produced the hits “That’s Not My Name” and “Shut Up and Let Me Go” that topped the charts back in 2008. The duo, consisting of Katie White and Jules De Martino, brought some of that energy into the making of their third studio album. Super Critical was recorded in Ibiza, co-produced by former Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor, and inspired by the music and glamour of New York in the 70’s.
