Hometown: Vancouver, BC | Label: Unsigned
Finding a rock band that isn’t as generic or mainstream as many popular bands today can be a challenging task. Rock music as a genre has progressed incredibly and those bands that don’t keep up, are bound to be left in the dust. Vancouver’s very own Fully Loaded has managed to stay afloat in the sea of sinking acts, and with the release of their newest EP Inside My Head, have established themselves as a legitimate Canadian rock band with no signs of faltering any time soon.
Band members Chris Ball (Bass and Vocals), Jovan (Drums), and brothers Andrew (Guitar and Vocals) and Mike Twining (Vocals and Guitar), have come a long way since their 2006 commencement into the music scene after being named one of the Top 5 bands in 99.3 The Fox’s prestigious Seeds Competition and later finishing the year off victorious with the award for Songwriter of the Year from Music BC. Inside My Head’s first single “Honestly”, has been rising up the charts across Canada and has allowed the band to create a name and place for itself on the Canadian music scene. The band`s sound is gutsy and hard-hitting, the song-writing abilities of the Twining brothers is genius, and the vocals on each track are delivered perfectly with each line. Fully Loaded is not like any other rock or alternative band that is out there on the market, they are truly a fresh take on a growing music scene here in Canada and are garnering the respect they deserve in the rock world as well.
After seeing the band perform live in 2006 at a Vancouver Whitecaps game, I was hooked instantly to their upbeat and high energy performance and was taken by the maturity and confidence in their overall sound, and was excited for what was in store for the band in the coming years. It is easy to appreciate a band who has the patience to work on and improve the little things that in the end contribute immensely to the overall package, and Fully Loaded has done just that. Their EP, Inside My Head was just released this past February, (on iTunes March 1st), having contributions from music greats including Jeff Dawson (Daniel Powter, State of Shock), and Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith). Over the years, Fully Loaded has graced the staged alongside a variety of bands including Theory of a Deadman, Billy Talent, and Danko Jones. Performing live is what Fully Loaded does best, and with the release of Inside My Head, look out for the band to hit a stage near you.
