When it comes to countries considered great music exports, Holland is not necessarily at the top of any prominent lists. However, Holland is the home of rock act Within Temptation, who are heating up the charts not only in Europe, but throughout the world. Within Temptation’s single, “All I Need,” was featured this past week on the hit TV show, The Vampire Diaries, and the single itself has skyrocketed on iTunes and everywhere else since then. There is a wonderfully gothic and yet timeless sense to this song, with the lyrics relatable to people of all ages. There are some similarities from Within Temptation to Evanescence, but ultimately, the two are very different, and when it comes down to it, Within Temptation is a breath of fresh air in a genre primarily dominated by male leads.
