There are stories behind Sierra Ferrell’s voice that are brought to life simply through song. In this case, it’s a cover of one of Ray LaMontagne’s. One of the most magical things about covers is when an artist like Ferrell adds her own heart and soul to the words – the song takes on new life.
Growing up in a small town in West Virginia, Ferrell honed in on her voice and songwriting through years of living in her van and busking through New Orleans and Seattle. Her debut record Long Time Coming was released last year and showcases her self-described sound of a ‘country heart but a jazz mind’.
Ferrell is currently on tour, with a sold-out stop in Vancouver on March 9th at The Hollywood Theatre. She will be touring with Ray LaMontage, her musical inspiration, later this year as well. Check out all of her upcoming shows here: https://www.sierraferrellmusic.com/tour
