On his latest single “Summer Somewhere”, Los Angeles-based Luke Sital-Singh asks a heavy question: “Who’s got a sorrow that we haven’t seen yet?” It pushes listeners to consider the reality that we only see of others what they are willing to share – a curated glimpse at a small fraction of what makes them whole.
Sital-Singh is adept at touching on heavy topics through deceptively simple lyrics and folk-driven melodies, but when you stop and listen more intently, the message becomes clear. There is no pretense here – how do you rise above the chaos that feels like it is not only within you, but also all around you? How do you protect your loved ones when you yourself are having trouble navigating the dark to find the light?
Sital-Singh earnestly reflects on the fact that though it is easy to feel alone during uncertain and tumultuous times, the truth is that we are experiencing it together. As the song progresses, the singer-songwriter posits that if we as human beings went through this collective turmoil, we can work together to “aim higher” and hold on to the hope that a positive ending is on its way.
Luke Sital-Singh’s fourth full-length studio album Dressing Like A Stranger is set to be released on September 2, 2022. He will also be embarking on a UK tour in support of the record which kicks off in September in Bristol. Learn more about his upcoming tour dates at https://www.lukesitalsingh.com.
