In a city like Vancouver, the love of good music is perhaps matched by our passion for hockey. With the playoffs on the horizon this month, we thought it only made sense to intersect music and hockey. JPNSGRLS were kind enough to take some time to catch up with us to chat not only about the Vancouver Canucks, but also what they’ve been up to. Their debut album Circulation saw its UK release earlier this week, and the band will be heading on tour in Europe later this month.

One of the first encounters between Kalin and Myles was at a house party. It is only fitting that the duo makes now creates hip-pop music that easily fits into a party playlist. The musical union of Kalin White and Myles Parrish has been a few years in the making. Their fan base has been accumulating nicely since their early days, notably on Vine. Kalin & Myles are currently on tour across North America, with a stop in Vancouver at The Rio Theatre on April 21st. Courtesy of Union Events, you can win a pair of tickets to the Kalin and Myles show in Vancouver on April 21st.

There is no doubt that The Ting Tings know how to create infectious music. Their debut album, We Started Nothing, produced the hits “That’s Not My Name” and “Shut Up and Let Me Go” that topped the charts back in 2008. The duo, consisting of Katie White and Jules De Martino, brought some of that energy into the making of their third studio album. Super Critical was recorded in Ibiza, co-produced by former Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor, and inspired by the music and glamour of New York in the 70’s.
