I recently had the opportunity to ask Boy & Bear’s bassist Dave Symes a few questions through e-mail. The band is currently touring the USA and Canada and quickly selling out venues. Among the sold-out shows includes their upcoming show in Vancouver at the Commodore Ballroom this Sunday April 6th.

EVENTS: Party For The Planet @ SURREY CITY HALL PLAZA – April 26, 2014
Last week, the City of Surrey announced the details for this year’s Party for the Planet – including musical headliners Said The Whale and guests Andrew Allen, Dear Rouge, Jordan Klassen, and Jeremy Fisher. The fourth annual festival will be held on Saturday April 26th and continues to be one of the largest Earth Day events in British Columbia.
SOTD: Mu – To Be Young
There is an ethereal element to Mu’s music that is as equally charming as it is intriguing. The pop-electronic duo from Vancouver consists of Francesca Belcourt and Brittany Rand, who will be playing their debut show at The Colbalt tonight (917 Main Street).

If there were a recipe for Jordan Klassen’s music, it would include a touch of wonder and a whole lot of sincerity. Next week, Klassen will be heading down to Austin, Texas for this year’s SXSW. As part of Music BC/BeatRoute Magazine/Winniecooper.net’s showcase, Klassen will be playing at The Velveeta Room (521 E 6th St.) on Saturday March 15th.
SOTD: The Oceanographers – Red Horizon
The Oceanographers released a new track last week in celebration of hitting a thousand likes on their Facebook page. The Vancouver band will be playing at the Squamish Valley Music Festival on August 9th. Meanwhile, check out “Red Horizon” off their upcoming EP.

SOTD: Gunner & Smith – Towns
Saskatoon’s very own Gunner & Smith are bringing their indie country rock to Western Canada – following their appearance at the Folk Alliance International in Kansas City this Friday. The band is supporting their upcoming release, He Was A Good Man, which will be independently released on February 25th.

We had the opportunity to chat with Little Mix ahead of the first show of the Neon Lights Tour with Demi Lovato and Fifth Harmony in Vancouver.
