The Katherines played their debut show this past Friday at the Biltmore Cabaret. The latest addition to the 604 Records roster had built quite the buzz surrounding the show, and the evening certainly did not disappoint.

Last Friday night was a prime example of how music brings people together. Saskatoon’s Acronyms opened for local favourites JPNSGRLS at The Media Club.

There is something about music that speaks to the heart and soul unlike anything else. There is no better event than #SingItFwd to showcase this fact. Last Thursday at the Vogue Theatre, a packed roster of Canadian musicians as well as the youngsters of Saint James Music Academy graced the stage.
604 RECORDS CHRISTMAS PARTY, The Belmonte Bar – December 11, 2014
The 604 Records Christmas party was just how you would imagine it – a room full of some of Vancouver’s finest musicians and those who enjoy the music of those very artists. By the time the music started, The Belmonte Bar was already packing in quite the crowd on a Thursday night.
CAT THOMSON ALBUM RELEASE PARTY, 604 Records – November 29, 2014
Cat Thomson celebrated her album release two weekends ago at the brand new 604 Records sound space filled with friends and family. There was a glow to Thomson’s performance, paired perfectly with the proud faces of all of those in attendance.
LOVECOAST, The Waldorf – November 7, 2014 with Chersea & Goodwood Atoms
Lovecoast celebrated the release of their debut EP, Chasing Tides, with a show at The Waldorf earlier this month. Friends, family, and fans waited patiently upstairs at The Tiki Bar ahead of the doors for an evening of good music and even better times.
DAVID VERTESI, Anza Club – October 22, 2014 with Windmills & Rosie June
Nothing brings people together on a rainy evening better than a concert at a cozy venue. This past Wednesday, supporters of local music were brought together by a performance of David Vertesi (of Hey Ocean!) who was supported by Windmills and Rosie June at the Anza Club. The show was the last in a series of Western Canadian tour dates in support of Vertesi’s upcoming sophomore record.
PAIGE MORGAN, FanClub – October 17, 2014
This past weekend, Paige Morgan was beaming at the release party for her debut album at Vancouver’s FanClub. As the title of Morgan’s album is Golden, the dress code of the evening was aptly themed with everything gold. Shimmery treats and shiny decorations detailed the venue, which was filled with friends, family, and fans.
JPNSGRLS, The Cultch – May 10, 2014
JPNSGRLS (with vowels, Japanese Girls) have had a busy year so far, and there are no signs of slowing down. The band released “Smalls”, the first single from their upcoming full-length debut Circulation, just before they toured Western Canada with Mounties. With lots of new fans in tow, JPNSGRLS graced the top of CBC Radio’s Top 30 listener-voted chart for four consecutive weeks with “Smalls”.
BOY & BEAR – Commodore Ballroom – April 6, 2014
Boy & Bear played to a sold-out crowd at the Commodore Ballroom on Sunday evening, marking the Sydney band’s first time in Vancouver.
