JPNSGRLS are getting ready for a busy summer. Last week, the band released a music video for “Smalls”, which serves as the first single from their upcoming debut full-length album Circulation due July 15th.
SOTD: Brody Dalle – Meet The Foetus / Oh The Joy
You may be familiar with Brody Dalle through her former bands The Distillers and Spinnerette, but the Australian-born singer-songwriter and guitarist has been making waves with her recently released solo album Diploid Love. The first single from the album, “Meet The Foetus / Oh The Joy”, was inspired by Dalle’s children and features Shirley Manson of Garbage. Dalle will be playing a sold-out show tonight at Venue in Vancouver.
SOTD: William Fitzsimmons – Fortune
William Fitzsimmons has a knack for writing beautiful songs. The track “Fortune” is off of his latest record, Lions. The singer-songwriter based in Illinois by the way of Pittsburgh will be playing tonight at the Biltmore Cabaret.

Earlier this year, The Neighbourhood announced they were parting ways with drummer Bryan Sammis, and fans anxiously awaited to see what his next move would be. This is where Olivver comes in.

SOTD Earlier this week, Paige Morgan released a live acoustic video for her latest single “Paralyzed”.
SOTD: BESTiE – Foolish Hearts
Vancouver’s own emoji-pop band BESTiE released a new video this week for “Foolish Hearts” off their debut album No Bad Days. The band is currently touring across the country in support of the release, including stops in Toronto next week as part of Canadian Music Week.
SOTD: Mu – To Be Young
There is an ethereal element to Mu’s music that is as equally charming as it is intriguing. The pop-electronic duo from Vancouver consists of Francesca Belcourt and Brittany Rand, who will be playing their debut show at The Colbalt tonight (917 Main Street).
SOTD: The Oceanographers – Red Horizon
The Oceanographers released a new track last week in celebration of hitting a thousand likes on their Facebook page. The Vancouver band will be playing at the Squamish Valley Music Festival on August 9th. Meanwhile, check out “Red Horizon” off their upcoming EP.
SOTD: Gunner & Smith – Towns
Saskatoon’s very own Gunner & Smith are bringing their indie country rock to Western Canada – following their appearance at the Folk Alliance International in Kansas City this Friday. The band is supporting their upcoming release, He Was A Good Man, which will be independently released on February 25th.
SOTD: Mounties – Made Up My Mind
Mounties released a new song and video last week for “Made Up My Mind” off their album Thrash Rock Legacy set for release on March 4th. The band will be embarking on a Canadian tour in support of their debut record, which we’ve previously posted about here.
