The nominees for the 2010 Juno Awards were announced earlier today, just days after the end of the Olympics here in Vancouver, where a number of the nominees were in town representing their national pride up until Team Canada claimed the prized gold for men鈥檚 hockey. The Juno Awards will be held in St. John鈥檚, Newfoundland this year, and will be sure to be a weekend full of good music for those in attendance, as last year鈥檚 celebrations of Vancouver were.
One of those in attendance at Canada Hockey Place for the game on Sunday was Burnaby鈥檚 very own Michael Buble, who leads in with a total of six nominations, which includes the Juno Fan Choice Award, Single of the Year, and Artist of the Year. Buble is also a contender under the category of Songwriter of the Year, which puts him up against some tough competition with Carly Rae Jepsen (& Ryan Stewart), Emily Haines & James Shaw, Joel Plaskett, and K鈥橬aan.
Artists who have been previously featured on our blog, including Lights, Three Day Grace, Hedley, and Ten Second Epic also scored nominations in their respective categories. 馃檪
