This past weekend, Paige Morgan was beaming at the release party for her debut album at Vancouver’s FanClub. As the title of Morgan’s album is Golden, the dress code of the evening was aptly themed with everything gold.
Shimmery treats and shiny decorations detailed the venue, which was filled with friends, family, and fans. Music from DJ Rachel Sehl warmed the crowd up along with performances from local dance groups Army of Sass and The Dance Initiative.
If Morgan didn’t have the full attention of the room already, she definitely captured the rest of it from the moment she stepped onstage. The woman of the hour showcased her soulful vocals with songs off her debut album as well as covers of Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun” and Blackstreet’s “No Diggity”. There is a sincerity and strength in Morgan’s live performance that is as golden as it gets.
