CD REVIEW: A 604 Records Christmas

So what does A 604 Records Christmas consist of?

Add a pair of ‘Mittens’ from Carly Rae Jepsen, and some ‘Frostbite Kisses’ from Jakalope, and we’re on our way. The Christmas compilation from the Vancouver-based record label was released in late November and features some of its brightest stars, and as well as up-and-comers like Jackie Valentine.

One of the biggest highlights on this compilation is the fact that nine out of ten tracks are original tracks, and showcases the levels of homegrown talent that the Canadian music scene has to offer. There’s also a diversity of genres in the artists showcased, so there’s a little something for everyone.

Faber Drive puts a twist on tradition holiday classics in a bit of a mash-up with ‘Sing In Celebration’, all the while making it their own, and Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench effortlessly pulls off an acoustic version of ‘Baby, Please Come Home’ – sure to warm the hearts of listeners on these cold winter nights.

Tracklist:
1. Our First Christmas – Daniel Wesley
2. For Christmas Time – Suzie McNeil
3. Sing In Celebration – Faber Drive
4. Christmas At My House – Jessie Farrell
5. Frostbite Kisses – Jakalope
6. Mittens – Carly Rae Jepsen
7. Christmas Time – Jackie Valentine
