There’s a quality to Field Guide‘s songwriting that earnestly draws you in. There’s a feeling of nostalgia and comfort in his songwriting that makes listening to his music feel like being wrapped up in your favourite blanket.

Before becoming Field Guide, Dylan MacDonald was previously in the band The Middle Coast as well as being a guitar player for hire. The Winnipeg-based singer-songwriter has had a busy start to the year touring with the likes of Leif Vollebekk and SMYL, as well as upcoming dates with Wild Rivers.

It was at the SMYL show in Vancouver at the historic Hollywood Theatre where I first saw Field Guide play live and immediately added his song “Tupperware” to my library, where it has since been on frequent rotation along with the rest of his debut record Make Peace With That.

Field Guide was kind enough to answer a few questions for us via email ahead of opening a trio of shows for Bahamas in Halifax.
